Broadcasting / Voiceover Feature

How do I use the voiceover feature?

The voiceover feature is only available when you're broadcasting on Studio365-Live with the playlist source. This feature allows you to crossfade between your voice and your music or simply pause your music, so you can speak.

To set this up, you'll want to:

  1. Open up Studio365-Live
  2. Setup your playlist and make sure this source is selected from the "Audio Source" menu
  3. Click the arrow icon to start your broadcast (your station must be on in order to use the Voiceover feature)
  4. Immediately go back to the "Audio Source" menu and select Voiceover
  5. You'll get a Voiceover pop-up menu. Immediately click on the "Crossfade" option, make sure the slider is all the way to the "Music" side and click on the Microphone button. The red light icon will turn on, when your microphone is live.

Once you've done this, you can move the slider back and forth, when you're in Crossfade mode, to get the desired mix between music and voice that you'd like. You can talk over the music but the playlist will not be paused in this mode. Even if you toggle the slider all the way over to Voice, you playlist will continue to play, even if it is muted.

If you use the Insert mode, your playlist will be paused and the slider will move all the way over to the "Voice" option. This is used, in most cases, when you're transitioning between tracks. That way, you can control when the next track starts. When you're ready to go back to music, we suggest that you select the Crossfade option and move the slider back to music, as it should stay on the Voice option until you slide it over by default.

Note: In order to prevent drops or interruptions on your station while you're broadcasting, we suggest that you leave the microphone on at all times on the Voiceover window. You'll want to toggle between the Insert, Crossfade and the slider bar to achieve the audio mix that you want.

Once you're done with the Voiceover feature, be sure and turn off your microphone on the Voiceover window, before you close out this window. If you don't, you may receive an error message.
